Confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Barbados are 33.

This announcement was made by Dr Anton Best, Acting Chief Medical officer, a short while ago on BrassTacks Sunday.

Best said there are 19 imported cases of COVID-19 and 11 were identified through contact tracing. Two cf the confirmed cases are still being investigated, he said.

Of the confirmed cases, there are 16 male and 17 female.

Overall, 287 tests have been conducted over the last three to four weeks.

Government implemented a two-week curfew which began on March 28, aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19. The curfew will last each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until April 14. The curfew was imposed as a result of Barbados entering Stage 3 of the national response to COVID-19.

There are some exemptions to the curfew such as people employed in essential services as outlined by Government.
